One person, a world of AI, and a deliberate bet on what comes next.
I’m not a massive agency. I’m a senior business analyst and consultancy owner who refused to be left behind by the AI revolution. This is the honest record of how I’m rebuilding my professional life—and how you can too.
Why This Podcast Exists
The world has changed, and so has the economy. For many of us in our 40s and 50s, the careers we built over decades no longer feel as secure as they once did. Experience counts for less than it used to. The pace of change is relentless. And AI — depending on who you listen to — is either going to save your career or end it.
I’ve spent 25 years helping organisations navigate change. This is the most significant shift I’ve seen — and I decided to document it from the inside. I got tired of the noise. So I started Zero to AI to document what’s actually happening when a mid-career professional decides to stop watching from the sidelines and start building something new.
This podcast is my honest account of that process. Not a highlight reel. Not a sales pitch. The real thing. An expert’s field notes — what’s working, what’s oversold, and where the real leverage is.
How this all gets made
Zero to AI is a one-person operation — and I want to be upfront about that. There’s no team. It’s me: researching, recording, writing, editing, and publishing.
What makes it possible at this scale is AI. I use a suite of AI tools to handle research, content production, audio editing, and distribution — the same tools and workflows I talk about on the podcast. When I say AI can genuinely change what one person is capable of, I’m not theorising. I’m proving it every single week to make this show.
That’s actually the whole point. If I can run a weekly podcast, a blog, and a consulting business as one person in regional New Zealand — with the right tools and the right mindset — so can you.
